Algarve best for buyers looking for golf resorts properties
09 November 2009
Those looking to buy golf resort properties overseas will find Portugal’s Algarve to be the best place to do so, it has been suggested.
In a feature on the subject, the Daily Mail claimed that this area is "undisputed" as the leading location in Europe for these kinds of homes.
David Cox from investment firm Property Frontiers told the paper the area had seen "a price appreciation of ten per cent (per annum) in recent years" due to its many courses, which account for half of the total number in Portugal.
The paper noted that official UK government statistics reveals that the demographic most likely to buy homes abroad is affluent and aged in the 50s - the group most likely to play golf.
Experts in Portugal expect to see the property market enjoy an upturn now the country is out of recession, overseas investor magazine Buy Association reported earlier this autumn.
