The Hilton Alvor is set to open resort in Algarve in Portugal in 2012. The five-star, 174-room property will be set within an 11-acre park overlooking the Alvor beach, and will offer a restaurant, two bars, a ballroom, a spa and fitness centre, outdoor pools, plus retail outlets and meeting and conference facilities covering 500m2.
Hilton Worldwide senior vice-president of development Patrick Fitzgibbon said: "The Algarve is one of Europe's most visited destinations and we believe in its potential for growing Hilton's portfolio of hotels, with its great weather, vibrant culture and strong tourism infrastructure."
Also in Portugal, the Hilton Bom Sucesso Obidos is set to open in March 2012 in Obidos, some 100km north of Lisbon.
Hilton Worldwide currently manages one hotel in Portugal, the Hilton Vilamoura As Cascatas Golf Resort & Spa.
