Algarve popular with golfers

Golfing fans have been advised to take advantage of the range of facilities in Portugal's Algarve.
The region, which has become highly popular as an overseas investment spot partly because of its sporting facilities, was described by Golf International as an "idyllic" area with good weather all year round.
However, the organisation stated that the Algarve also had a lot to offer to people who were not necessarily into golf, such as its beaches, picturesque scenery and relaxing lifestyle.
David Brice, spokesperson for Golf International, told PGATour.com: “Portugal has an appeal that extends far beyond golf, with a wealth of other attractions to not only tempt first time visitors, but keep them coming back for more, year after year."
The region was also said to offer lots of historical and cultural attractions, offering lots of opportunities for sightseeing.
